SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PAINTING:

Little Krishna’s equation with butter has been the centre of very fond stories throughout His Leelas, but one that holds a lot of significance.

Little Navaneeta Krishna reaching out for butter from a pot signifies how one should attain the highest form of self-realisation by delving within. Just how it takes a lot of labour to churn out butter from milk, it takes equal amount of effort to cleanse the soul by uttering the name of the Lord. This pure and unconditional love for Krishna is what Krishna looks for in His devotees. And likewise, this is how one seeks Lord Krishna.
